My kinda girl

July 18th, 2008

My Kinda Girl: Megan Fox. iPhone in hand (although it looks like she wasnt able to get her hands on a 3G version yet) and (more importantly) wearing a Star Wars T-Shirt. I have one just like it, but in gray and admitedly I dont look half as good as her in it. GEEK never looked so hot! And whats more, she has a Mercedes AMG CLS55 - a car I have loved for a long time now:

World Food Crisis Summit - The Menu

July 8th, 2008

That, my dear readers, is the menu for the food at the Global Food Crisis talks at the G8 Summit in Japan over the weekend. i never really suported all the hippes that come out and protest the G8 every year but with shit like this I cant not see the hypocrisy.

‘It is deeply hypocritical that they should be lavishing course after course on world leaders when there is a food crisis and millions cannot afford a decent meal.’

Discussions about how the world’s children are dying of hunger over caviar. How lovely and classy.

friskyPodcast 106 | Royal Sapien

July 6th, 2008

This week’s friskyPodcast is from my good friend and all-round rock star DJ Ben Mautner aka Royal Sapien. Not only is he a great DJ that plays, er… frankly I have no idea what genre of music he plays in his sets. His sets are literally all round and all over the genre landscape, and thats what I like about his sets. This podcast set is one of my favourites from him and will keep you dancing for a long time… Check it!

The Dark Knight

July 4th, 2008

I cant remember the last time when a movie has this many excellent promotional posters as The Dark Knight does. Two of the more tasty and creepy ones are below:

Check out more here. Is it July 18 yet?!!!

That explains it…

July 1st, 2008

I have a love/hate relationship with Greek DJs on friskyRadio. I love their music and their DJ sets and currently I have over 6 or 7 shows hosted by Greek DJs. Thats the love part. The hate part is that each and every one of them is extremely lazy and unreliable. My biggest pet peve in life is unreliable people, and people not doing what they say they will, when they will. I have a rule that each show for the radio needs to be submitted 24 hours in advance - and its always the greek DJs that never follow this rule and always either forget to submit their show on time, or never at all! It drives me insane!

Ive finally found the answer why:

Now I wont be too harsh on them - as I can clearly see that they have other, better things on their mind.

WALL-E
Everytime Pixar outdoes itself - but with WALL-E they have outdone themselves ten times over. This film was a joy to watch and experience from the first frame to the last - and believe me I stayed all the way until the very last credit had rolled. It’s that good.

Besides the amazing animation and characters, this is also perhaps Pixar’s first movie with a semi-political message behind it. Its a commentary of man’s current obsession with technology, its laziness and the damage we’re doing to the environment. The messages and commentary, thankfully, are done with class and are very subtle and intelligently done. I also liked the shout-outs they made to Macs and HAL, the infamous computer from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Im gonna watch this one again!

Wanted
Wanted is the most ridiculous, amazing, stupid, awesome, brilliant, hot, over-the-top, unbelievable, totally necessary, ultra violent, poetic and sexy movie of this summer. Whatever it was trying to do: it worked! Its a mix of Fight Club, Bourne Identity and a really really crappy movie all in one.
Indiana Jones 4
A fitting tribute to the first three movies. Its everything and nothing the first three were. I enjoyed it, but felt a little bit was missing. Certinaly not my most favourite of the 4 Indy movies, but what I liked about it was that it doesnt try to be what it isnt and is everything it is and was.

The Presidential Memorial Commission was successful in their petition to add a measure to the San Francisco ballot in the November election to rename a sewage plant to “George W Bush Sewage Plant.” Ive said it before - California dances to its own beat and San Francisco is literally the best city in the world. Period.

We always knew the hidden potential for killer apps on the iPhone. And after looking at this demo, its confirmed. The iPhone has the potential to be the one gadget for gaming, music, videos - everything. This is what the PSP should have been. Sony missed it and fucked up once again.

Trailer for August, an Indie movie about the rise (and fall) of the dot-com madness. This should be good and bring back some memories. But hang on a minute - the company in the movie (Land Shark) is based in … New York? Hello? 90% of the dot-com companies were in Sillicon Valley yo!

There are 1 million terrorists in this country. Its led by a retarded monkey. Can you guess what this country is? Yep. Its the good ol’ US of A. According to the ACLU, there are 1 million names in the US Government’s “Terrorist Watch List.” Looks like the US troops should come back from Iraq and fight all those 1 million terrorist that right in their own homeland!
