How LOST Will End: My Prediction

May 19th, 2010

NO SPOILERS IN THIS POST. SAFE TO READ.

Ever since LOST Started in September of 2004, people have asked the one question: What does it all mean? Over the years we have not got many answers. In fact quite the opposite, as the years went by the questions have only grown.

No matter what you think of it, LOST has been one of the most successful TV shows in history. That is undeniable. What is controversial about the show is that people feel like they need to know the answers of the mysteries of LOST in order to enjoy it. I dont feel that way.

I think the reason why LOST is so successful is that it doesnt give you the answers you want. Its open to interpretation for you to judge and come to your conclusions on what the Island is, or what it all means. That is why, when the final scene cuts on Sunday night’s series finale, I am predicting that we will not know all the answers.

In fact, I will be surprised a feel a little cheated if the writers tell us everything and answer all the mysteries literally. I think the power of imagination and interpretation is much more compelling than having all your questions answered.

And what about that very last scene? I predict that it will end as it started: a shot of Jack, laying on the grass. On the Island. Scene Cut! Fade to black….

Now lets see if Im right…

The Kardashian mentions how much attention is paid, not how much attention is deserved, so naming the unit after someone who is famous for being famous seems appropriate.

Brilliant. Ethan Zuckerman proposes measuring attention with a unit of measure called a Kardashian.

Excellent post about how Twitter in the end will be the big winner rather than Facebook.

Slow and steady always wins the race. Always. Its what I believe in when it comes to FRISKY and in everything else I try to do.

Watch the trailer for JJ Abrams’ new TV show Revolution. Looks good but then so did Alcatraz, which turned out to be a dud. Lets hope this lives up to the hype.

RIP so-called Social Readers. The Facebook Social Reader is the worst piece of crap ever. You click on an article your friend supposedly read and instead of taking you to the story, it takes you to an app. Thats when I closed the app and never went to the story. I wasnt the only one.

Fascinating story of American Airlines’ AAirPass - an all-you-can-fly elite program that you can purchase for $350,000. Considering how much you can travel (unlimited, first class), I think $350K is a great deal if you have the money. And time I guess.

The San Pelligrino 50 Best Restaurants in the World list is better than the Michelin list, and their 2012 ratings are right on. Per Se at 6 and not surprisingly Eleven Madison Park jumps from 24 to 10! It is that good. I expect it to be in the Top 5 next year for sure. Another one to watch out for next year: Atera in New York.
