Battlestar Galactica Finale

Im still recovering from last night’s massive Battlestar Galactica finale. It proved once again that it by far the most intelligent, groundbreaking, and well-written show on TV. I wish I had the time to really sit down and write a review of it myself but Im still processing the ending (which I have to admit that I had thought was possible - but then a lot of things could have been possible for the end). I had only one problem with the ending but having thought about it a bit I can see how it all fits in. For those that have not yet gotten into BSG yet - I strongly recommend that you run to your DVD shop and start with season 1. TIME magazine reviewed the finalehere - beware though that it is full of spoilers.

I honestly felt the finale was pitiful at best. All the useless flashbacks, the Starbuck screwup, Abandoning their technology, Chief Tyrol becoming a Scot Highlander and passing on resurrection to the Klan Macleod…..wished I had wrote this article about why it was aweful, but someone beat me to a spot on review of why it sucked.

Carrie Thats it isnt it about finales - no matter what you do people will always be unsatisfied.

While I had problems with some of the finale myself - what drew me into the show in the first place - and why I liked the finale was simply this: Battlestar Galactica has *always* been about the characters. Not the explosions - not the sci-fi aspect. Its the characters. Thats why the finale was awesome, for me at least.

Totally agree F. I wasn’t sure what Ron Moore (nice newsstand cameo BTW) and company had in store for us, but I was pleased.

Excellent post about how Twitter in the end will be the big winner rather than Facebook.

Slow and steady always wins the race. Always. Its what I believe in when it comes to FRISKY and in everything else I try to do.

Watch the trailer for JJ Abrams’ new TV show Revolution. Looks good but then so did Alcatraz, which turned out to be a dud. Lets hope this lives up to the hype.

Excellent read by Henry Bloget in the New Yorker about how Mark has matured into a kick ass CEO. I couldnt agree more.

RIP so-called Social Readers. The Facebook Social Reader is the worst piece of crap ever. You click on an article your friend supposedly read and instead of taking you to the story, it takes you to an app. Thats when I closed the app and never went to the story. I wasnt the only one.

Fascinating story of American Airlines’ AAirPass - an all-you-can-fly elite program that you can purchase for $350,000. Considering how much you can travel (unlimited, first class), I think $350K is a great deal if you have the money. And time I guess.

The San Pelligrino 50 Best Restaurants in the World list is better than the Michelin list, and their 2012 ratings are right on. Per Se at 6 and not surprisingly Eleven Madison Park jumps from 24 to 10! It is that good. I expect it to be in the Top 5 next year for sure. Another one to watch out for next year: Atera in New York.

Couldnt agree with this more… Apple should buy Foursquare and Square:

To summarize: after the deal, Apple will immediately become a giant payments company, with an installation base that is expected to encompass half of all mobile devices sold. The company will have the best local search abilities, far exceeding any existing recommendation engine. And due to its enormous reach, it will possess a payment system that merchants will line up to support.

Perfectly boring still life objects made incredibly NSFW. Quite awesome how at first you see the shots, you dont see anything but erotica. But then when you realise what it is, you have to try and see anything but the every-day object.
