Almost a week after the devastating cyclone hit Burma, the first UN aid flights are finally underway. Its a shame that the Burmese government didnt let their ruthless arrogance aside and let the world help the people that cant help themselves.

100,000 people will have lost their lives as a result of this cyclone. I cant even fathom that amount of destruction. Its at this time that we need to take a step back from our daily mundane lives and count our blessings and thankful that we are alive and live in a place where we can take clean drinking water for granted. Its these basic necessities that the people in Burma and other regions of the world do not have.

I wish that we could help and actually make a difference but unfortunately donating money will not be that useful as the Burmese government insists on not letting any UN aid workers in and doesnt accept outside help. So unfortunately, a lot of people will die.

And we will let them.
