Im Lost

May 31st, 2007

I finally watched the two last episodes of season 3 of LOST last night. I agree with Stephen, I *hated* the season finale as well. There were only about one or two really good parts in it - the rest of was all crap. Here are some thoughts:
[Spoiler Alert]
1. As soon […]

Too Much Information?

May 30th, 2007

As I was playing around with Google Maps’ new Street View feature today, I kept thinking to myself: Its only a matter of time before someone sues them for invasion of privacy. Take a look at this map. I can clearly see a car’s license plate. And this picture of a […]

Microsoft unveils Surface: a computer thats a table. This is slick and the time is totally now for these sorts of applications. The most obvious application I can think of is a ordering system at restaurants. Diners could look at the menu and order right then and there, without annoying waiters looking […]

Another one of those Only-In-America things: A Creation Museum just opened in Kentucky that has exhibits such as the Noah’s Arc and asserts that ‘man walked amongst Dinosaurs.’ The fact that this museum is actually real, and that it cost upwards of $200 million to build, and that it expects around 200,000 visitors […]

Esquire asks whether Chris Nolan (director of Batman Begins and Dark Knight) the greatest director alive? Well, they just figured that out? I’ve loved Nolan’s work since 2000 - after watching the brilliantly amazing and awesomely original Memento. You need to watch it if you havent already.

The first War Crimes trial started in Gitmo Bay this week. Who is on trial you ask? A murderer of thousands? A mastermind of the terrorist attacks? Nope. Its for a fucking driver! They are charging a driver that drove Osama around for War Crimes. Hamdan is no doubt not without some sort of guilt, but War Crimes? Poor guy was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is further proof of how little the Americans know of the culture of that part of the world. Growing up in Pakistan, I had not one but two drivers, as well as a lot of “domestic help.” Every middle-class family does. Did our driver know everything about our family? No. Learning about your “enemy” if more than half the battle, and the American’s cant even get that right.

Obama’s plan for Iraq, in his own words in the New York Times. And in the ultimate diss to McCain, the New York Times rejected McCain’s request that he be able to respond to Obama on the New York Times.

The Presidential Memorial Commission was successful in their petition to add a measure to the San Francisco ballot in the November election to rename a sewage plant to “George W Bush Sewage Plant.” Ive said it before - California dances to its own beat and San Francisco is literally the best city in the world. Period.
