I waited in line for an hour just to make sure I got a great seat to this. The kid in me had been counting the days until this moment - the moment when I went to see what is arguably the most anticipated movie for geeks since Spiderman 2. This is the movie everyone has been raving to see all year. Even though the critics have been largely critical about it, I loved it.

The movie, as expected, is visually breathtaking and stunning. Too much so sometimes as I found myself admiring the CGI and effects and forgot to pay attention to the dialog and events happening on screen. Definitely a case where the post-production wizardry stole the show from everyone! Another minor flaw in this film is that certain key events and scenes were stretched too much, at times they became boring and I was left thinking, “Oh for fucks sake forget the speech and get on with the KILLING!!!”

Although this movie doesnt come close to the story and raw emotions of Gladiator, it can hold its own and claim its place right alongside it in pure entertainment value. It’d say this movie is like Gladiator on Steroids. If you go to this movie with an open mind and the brain of a 15-year-old juvenile kid, as I did, you will have a blast. The moment you start picking at its plot and dialog you will start to get annoyed and will lose interest in what is an amazing and visually stunning, albielt weak on script, film. But who cares about the script when you got timeless dialog such as this (come on now, say it with me:)

This is madness!
Madness…. THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Rumor is that they are already making a sequel. It will make sense why after you watch the movie. Although Im sure it wont compare with this one, but if I can steal another quote directly from the movie, I will say this movie “is one hell of a start!”

Definitely an entertaining movie… though you have to turn your brain OFF! 3/5!

Watch the trailer for JJ Abrams’ new TV show Revolution. Looks good but then so did Alcatraz, which turned out to be a dud. Lets hope this lives up to the hype.

RIP so-called Social Readers. The Facebook Social Reader is the worst piece of crap ever. You click on an article your friend supposedly read and instead of taking you to the story, it takes you to an app. Thats when I closed the app and never went to the story. I wasnt the only one.

Fascinating story of American Airlines’ AAirPass - an all-you-can-fly elite program that you can purchase for $350,000. Considering how much you can travel (unlimited, first class), I think $350K is a great deal if you have the money. And time I guess.

The San Pelligrino 50 Best Restaurants in the World list is better than the Michelin list, and their 2012 ratings are right on. Per Se at 6 and not surprisingly Eleven Madison Park jumps from 24 to 10! It is that good. I expect it to be in the Top 5 next year for sure. Another one to watch out for next year: Atera in New York.

Couldnt agree with this more… Apple should buy Foursquare and Square:

To summarize: after the deal, Apple will immediately become a giant payments company, with an installation base that is expected to encompass half of all mobile devices sold. The company will have the best local search abilities, far exceeding any existing recommendation engine. And due to its enormous reach, it will possess a payment system that merchants will line up to support.

Perfectly boring still life objects made incredibly NSFW. Quite awesome how at first you see the shots, you dont see anything but erotica. But then when you realise what it is, you have to try and see anything but the every-day object.
