DJMag Top 100 DJs

October 28th, 2005

… is a load of crap. But I’m so glad that Tiesto is not Number 1 this year. Here is the list:
1 Paul van Dyk
2 Tiesto
3 Armin Van Buuren
4 Sasha
5 Ferry Corsten
6 John Digweed
7 Hernan Cattaneo
8 Deep Dish
9 ATB
10 Carl Cox

Complete list here.

Seriously, I have a huge problem taking any DJ list that pairs ATB with the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Carl Cox and Hernan Cattaneo. ATB. ATB mutherfuckers!!! ATB!!! What a complete joke.

I am glad that Martin Garcia came in at 50 though. This guy is the real deal and for a DJ thats not that known all over the world to come straight in at 50 is a good achievment. And I totally believe Desyn should have been in the top 20 at least. Huge congrats to our very own Flash Brothers on coming in at 66! Congats also to my friend MoShic on coming in at 95! You deserve it bro! Also, Christian Cambas came in at 88!!! W00t, you go bro!!! Now lets start that monthly show that we’ve been talking about on frisky eh???!

Even tho i have been dj’ing since 1990 now, i still hate this celebrity status we place on dj’s.
At the end of the day all they do is play the rekkid, a track that the producer spent hours on..

but yeah good to see tiesto isnt number 1

I might just have to subscribe to Vanity Fair. They have been on a roll lately. Now they bring us an amazing insight into the man behind Napster and Facebook (and who is also played by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network): Sean Parker.

He has financed the businesses of numerous cohorts, merely out of affection. “He’s one of the most generous people I know,” says another associate. “Also one of the flakiest.”

First person account from a 9/11 victim of how the term has been hijacked by bigots.

My husband, Eddie Torres, killed on his second day of work at Cantor Fitzgerald while I was pregnant with our first child, was a dark-skinned Latino, often mistaken for Pakistani, who came here illegally from Colombia. How did “9/11 victim” become sloppy shorthand for “white Christian”?

    - Stephen Hawking. I couldn’t agree more. Can the US get the fuck over themselves and stop crying about every fucking year now? Where’s the day of remembrance for 100,000 Iraqis killed from the illegal war?

Vanity Fair is on a roll. After the scathing article on Sarah Palin, here comes another amazing must-read: A Day in Life of Obama on how he spends a typical day. And I thought I was busy.

An Israeli army officer who fired the entire magazine of his automatic rifle into a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and then said he would have done the same even if she had been three years old was acquitted on all charges by a military court yesterday.

What would make the Israeli Terrorist say such a thing? Because they are not human but are the scum of the Earth.

If you want to know what a joke and utter piece of shit Sarah Palin really is, you need to read Vanity Fair’s devastating profile of the woman. An amazing insight into the mind of Palin.

Once, while Sarah was preparing for a city-council meeting, she said, ‘I’m gonna put on one of my push-up bras so I can get what I want tonight.’ That’s how she rolls.”

Gmail is rolling out “Priority Inbox” a Facebook-like feature that predicts what emails are most important to you.

As messages come in, Gmail automatically flags some of them as important. Gmail uses a variety of signals to predict which messages are important, including the people you email most (if you email Bob a lot, a message from Bob is probably important) and which messages you open and reply to (these are likely more important than the ones you skip over).

I dont like Facebook telling me who my friends are, and Im not sure I like Gmail telling me what email is more important. I will just have to see how it works once I start seeing the Priority Inbox feature on my Gmail account.
