The first War Crimes trial started in Gitmo Bay this week. Who is on trial you ask? A murderer of thousands? A mastermind of the terrorist attacks? Nope. Its for a fucking driver! This is further proof of how little the Americans know of the culture of that part of the world. Growing up in Pakistan, I had not one but two drivers, as well as a lot of “domestic help.” Every middle-class family does. Did our driver know everything about our family? No. Learning about your “enemy” if more than half the battle, and the American’s cant even get that right.
