Dear South

September 2nd, 2005

You voted overwhelmingly for Bush in the 2004 elections. Where’s your president now? Almost every local government in the southern states is saying that federal help for the victims of Hurricane Katrina has been slow to arrive, if at all! I hate to say “I told you so” in these hard and desperate times but: I fucking told you so. This president, your president, is out of touch with reality. Hes out of touch with the common man… Hes been snorting coke on a silver platter all his life - how can he even even begin to sympathise with the common man? Enjoy your president. You earned it.

And please - would everyone stop comparing every disaster to Sept. 11? Im just sick of hearing “September 11 this, September 11 that…” Stop it!

    Hello Daniel, hello others,

It’s not a matter of that the us government did see it coming for days. The’ve seen it coming from years.

Several countries, along with us investigators told Bush already in 2001 that when a hurricane of this magnitude would strike, the country would have a serious problem.

Mr. Bush and his fellow administrators are always like “look at us, we’ve got it sorted out and all of you other countries in the world should follow us, we know best”. Well if that’s true, why did this happen?! Of course, you can’t stop the hurricane but, you could have stopped the water.

If and when people in the states even know where the Netherlands are (believe me, most think it’s only that little town in michigan) and they know about the dykes we’ve put up, they make fun of it.
Well, with those kinda dykes, new orleans would not have been flooded.

Why don’t these cities have them?

Cause you can only spend your money once and I’m sorry to say, but mr. Bush just likes to play the game of war better… That’s more important than the lives of the people that live in the country he’s president of.
He wants to be remembered as the cruisader that went to fight terrorism and brought peace (though I sincerely doubt those things).

Hell, if I didn’t know any better I’d say he was figuring out a plan at the moment on how to blame muslim terrorists for the hurricane so he can fight with more “toy soldiers”…

THis piece being said: My thoughts are now with those who have lost family members, their homes, their everything… Hop in time the wounds will heal.

Watch the trailer for JJ Abrams’ new TV show Revolution. Looks good but then so did Alcatraz, which turned out to be a dud. Lets hope this lives up to the hype.

RIP so-called Social Readers. The Facebook Social Reader is the worst piece of crap ever. You click on an article your friend supposedly read and instead of taking you to the story, it takes you to an app. Thats when I closed the app and never went to the story. I wasnt the only one.

Fascinating story of American Airlines’ AAirPass - an all-you-can-fly elite program that you can purchase for $350,000. Considering how much you can travel (unlimited, first class), I think $350K is a great deal if you have the money. And time I guess.

The San Pelligrino 50 Best Restaurants in the World list is better than the Michelin list, and their 2012 ratings are right on. Per Se at 6 and not surprisingly Eleven Madison Park jumps from 24 to 10! It is that good. I expect it to be in the Top 5 next year for sure. Another one to watch out for next year: Atera in New York.

Couldnt agree with this more… Apple should buy Foursquare and Square:

To summarize: after the deal, Apple will immediately become a giant payments company, with an installation base that is expected to encompass half of all mobile devices sold. The company will have the best local search abilities, far exceeding any existing recommendation engine. And due to its enormous reach, it will possess a payment system that merchants will line up to support.

Perfectly boring still life objects made incredibly NSFW. Quite awesome how at first you see the shots, you dont see anything but erotica. But then when you realise what it is, you have to try and see anything but the every-day object.
