Civil disobedience is an important tool of the people in a democracy. The Sierra Club is a fringe group of evironmentalists that practices civil disobedience. They’ve been called eco-terrorists. I don’t exactly agree with their methods but I also don’t think the government should be able to strip them of their citizenship and deport them. I’m not saying the Sierra Club and al-Qaeda are the same, but governments will try to paint any group that bothers them as “terrorist” groups if we give them that power.

I agree with deporting all muslim radicals that preach violence out of England…I fully support Blair in that plan. They should go back to the fucking caves (or indeed the year 640 BC) where they belong…

Oops, thought you were, sorry about that. I agree that the general debates you see in the media are ridiculous. I was only trying to level the field a little. England is debating whether to strip citizenship from people talking about terrorist activies. Many French citizens think they should close their borders all together. The neo-nazi(NPD) party is seeing a resurgence of public support in Germany. Apparently, stupidity is international. I’m not sure if we’re an exporter or importer, probably both.

No Im not American mate… Thats a really amazing article though… Its asolutely true too! I mean, in this day and age - we have people debating the benefits of stem cell research, abortions, euthanasia , gay marriage/rights, etc etc - without actually knowing the science behind it all - its … well, idiotic!

Of course like you cant generalise every arab as a terrorist, you cant also generalise all Americans as being stupid. I bet you though if you were to travel to some rural southern states, they wouldnt know their Sun from the Moon. But its a facinating article…

Aren’t you American? I am. I’d be able to hold a fairly high-level conversation on almost all the topics that were mentioned in the article. I’m willing you bet you would as well. The fact is, most of the world is relatively less intelligent than anyone with a secondary education. America is what you make of it, judging a society by is least intelligent citizens is folly.
