Thats it.

Apparently they did’nt listen when I asked them nicely. But I’ve struggled with SPAM ever since I started friskyGeek and more so as the hit count on friskyRadio has increased to the over 2 million hits it got last month. I get an average of 3 spam emails every 10 minutes. Thats an average of 432 emails a day! And this is only my friskyGeek and friskyRadio email accounts. Of the 432, I’d say only about 20 - 50 are emails that are truely intended for me. Everything else is SPAM trying to sell me stuff to make my penis larger, meet hot chicks, c1alis stoftabs, vi@grA p1lls, st0ck alerts, rX drugs and so on and on and on… Its got to stop. Its not even funny anymore. And right as I am typing this, another unsolicited stock alert has arrived in my inbox.

Its too late for me, since Ive already made the mistake of putting my emails out there on the site and the email sniffing bots already have my emails in their systems. I wonder if other people that have websites and blogs get as much spam as I do - as Im truely losing my mind here. Im thinking of signing up for the spamarrest service.

Warning: I’m not sure how well this actually works. Most spam filtering relies somewhat on where the message came from. Since you’ll be forwarding it that information will be destroyed.

hmmm i used to have the same issues with deeper.co.za, but with my nazi anti-spam setup on the server, i get ZERO! uhu, i mean zero

well, fuck me. I did some tweaks and shit on my mail server on my host I noticed that my “catch all” was enabled. What that means is that ANY email sent to ANY address in the @friskygeek.com and @friskyRadio.com domains will be forwarded to my real email addresses. D’OH!!! And I call myself a geek? Shame on me. ANyways, I turned catch-all off and now its certainly better. Now Im noticing a SPAM message once every 30 minutes or so… Will have to give nazi anti-spam a go…

p.s. Bob, Gmail sucks… for many reasons that I will post some other time… I was one of the very first people to get on gmail, and I even sold a few invites on eBay before they stopped them.
