Just got back to my hotel room from the Radio One party at Nikki Beach. In one word, it was MASSIVE!!! It was probably the best party of WMC2005. We got there at 1pm and had to wait in line for about 20 minutes, which was’nt bad, as by 6pm, the wait was well over two hours. Got in, Pete Tong was doing his Essential Selection and then James Zabiela came on, but for only 30 minutes. Deep Dish followed and played some of the best house music I have heard yet… Completely wicked.

Nikki Beach itself is basically a bar - on the beach. The vibe was very much like Bora Bora in Ibiza and the crowd reminded me of that place as well - beautiful half-naked people everywhere, having a good time, grooving to some wicked house music. Amazing. Another good thing about South Beach is that they allow women to go topless here… so that was a plus as well. We got into the VIP area just behind the DJ booth and hung out with Ferry Corsten and Pete Tong for a bit. Its kind of weird for me to be one of “The Industry” here. I mean, granted, EVERYONE is in the Industry, but its nice to rub elbows with promoters, DJs and such and actually talk “business” with them. Im also learning how political this business can be… So I have a lot to learn yet. The VIP area was definitely the place to be, as the outside was totally packed and you couldnt even walk. There were close to 20,000 people there!!! Wow. I cant wait to get the Essential Mix of Deep Dish’s set and play that on the stream. The set was completely off the hook!!!

Im beat. I might just take it easy and chill out tonight, because I have a feeling tommorow is going to be pretty hectic for our friskyRadio party. Hopefully *that* will the party of WMC2005 for me, but Radio One was pretty damn good!!!
