bah! quite an exciting game

June 25th, 2004

bah! quite an exciting game last night. i saw it at a pub, in complete english style. but i was completely wrongly dressed for the occasion. i was wearing my espana team jersey from world cup 2002, which looks a lot like the current portugal team jersey. of course the jerseys arent the same but to a drunk english fan - i might as well have been wearing the portugal flag! i did get a couple of weird stares as i walked in during half time. luckily i was there with a couple of co-workers that might or might not have protected me if i got jumped… anyways, the game goes on, englang fans get incresingly agitated as the game isnt exactly going their way… but it was an awesome game.
i have to say that the english are a nation of cry babies, when it comes to football and their team. yes, the goal from campbell was good, and the referee should not have disallowed it. i noticed that even the bbc commentators of the game said things like “the referee is a homey,” and “we were stolen our semi-final spot right there.” jeesus, talk about impartiality (or lack thereof)! the refree is god on the pitch. you have to agree and abide by his decisions, however controvertial. all the british press has headlines like “stolen” or “robbed.” sure, they were probably robbed off a win, but no one is considering that fact that portugal played a pretty good and passionate game. they played with a desire to win and please their home crowd. thats another fact of football - the home team almost always does well. i feel bad for beckham though. i didnt think he played that well in this tournament, and hes a much better player than that. and im sure he blames himself for the loss (in fact, he does, according to the england manager). that first penalty was not his fault, the ball moved slightly right before he hit it. certainly fucked up. i did want england to win - but i do feel that the better team won last night.
so did i get home in one piece after the game in my semi-portugal jersey? yes, only after i took it off (i was wearing my usual look of two t-shirts: a short sleave over a long sleaved one). i would have surely gotten jumped on the tube if i had’nt taken it off and put it safely in my bag - out of eye sight!
what a game tho! go france!!!

Putin accuses Bush of provoking the Georgia conflict to help McCain. Although I dont agree with it Putin, its not without merit. Remember, the Republicans have nothing other than war and national security to run on, so they will scary the American people and make wars out of nothing, just to get the people to vote for them. Thats why they won in 2004. And I can bet you come late October or so, Im sure there will be a “credible terrorist threat” or something of the like that hits America. All they know is to scare people.

The latest release from friskyRecords comes straight in at Number 1 in the ProgressiveHouse.com charts! Straight in at Number One baby! I feel especially good about this one because this was the first release on friskyRecords that I picked up, rather than commissioning DJs to make us a track for release. This track was 100% my choice that I heard and immedaitely knew I wanted to sign on friskyRecords. This proves that no matter what I should trust my gut. Thats what Ive always done with friskyRadio, and now its time to do the same with friskyRecords.
