Ok, its been a while

August 31st, 2003

Ok, its been a while since I have blogged. Its just ‘cuz there aint nothing going on in frisky’s life. No thats not entirely true… Heres what Im thinking lately:
I really really REALLY want a MINI Cooper S. I want one in blue with white stipes, and want to trick the fuck out of it! No, I dont want to sell my M3. I still want to keep my M3. I just want the MINI as a second car!!! Ok, I need to test drive one asap!
I’d like AOL to stop being such a loser company to work for. I love my job and all, but lately its been more of a chore and a ways to pay the rent and my baby’s mamas. you know what Im’ sayin’? ;) Seriously: I asked for a new laptop for my work way back in June before my trip to Virginia, and I still have not got my laptop! Fuckin’ ridiculous!
Mangoes kick ass. They should be available year round.
I miss “false”. No thats not “false” (as in the opposite of “true”) but Fal-say. Its like a berry that I used to eat back in Karachi when I was growing up. Kick ass fruit (or was it a vegitable?) Who cares?
BCIS, formerly my beloved agency called the INS sucks ass. Its becuase of them and the fact that they take eons to process a simple H-1B renewal that I will probably miss my long-awaited trip to europe. But here’s to still hoping that it will come in on time… I couldnt go to Ibiza this year just becuase of that… SHEEEEEYAT!
I really should start spinning again.
I really shouldnt have lost my turntable’s needles at that party I spun at last month.. Some fucker is spinning with my cartiridges right now. Sssheeeeyat,
I got a week off next week. Because I spent weekends and nights working on AOL 9.0 (thats out now, but has not gone “prime time” yet - stay tuned for the bombardment of the AOL 9.0 cds.” I heard they even mailed those to Mars and Saturn this year, just in case.)
What esle? Ya! Its fucking cold in San Francisco this weekend!
I love my new shoes. I shop like a gay man (or a woman, take your pick). I really should start saving for the trip… (or the MINI)?
Over and out.

I might just have to subscribe to Vanity Fair. They have been on a roll lately. Now they bring us an amazing insight into the man behind Napster and Facebook (and who is also played by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network): Sean Parker.

He has financed the businesses of numerous cohorts, merely out of affection. “He’s one of the most generous people I know,” says another associate. “Also one of the flakiest.”

First person account from a 9/11 victim of how the term has been hijacked by bigots.

My husband, Eddie Torres, killed on his second day of work at Cantor Fitzgerald while I was pregnant with our first child, was a dark-skinned Latino, often mistaken for Pakistani, who came here illegally from Colombia. How did “9/11 victim” become sloppy shorthand for “white Christian”?

“Although September 11 was horrible, it didn’t threaten the survival of the human race, like nuclear weapons do.”

    - Stephen Hawking. I couldn’t agree more. Can the US get the fuck over themselves and stop crying about every fucking year now? Where’s the day of remembrance for 100,000 Iraqis killed from the illegal war?

Vanity Fair is on a roll. After the scathing article on Sarah Palin, here comes another amazing must-read: A Day in Life of Obama on how he spends a typical day. And I thought I was busy.

An Israeli army officer who fired the entire magazine of his automatic rifle into a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and then said he would have done the same even if she had been three years old was acquitted on all charges by a military court yesterday.

What would make the Israeli Terrorist say such a thing? Because they are not human but are the scum of the Earth.

If you want to know what a joke and utter piece of shit Sarah Palin really is, you need to read Vanity Fair’s devastating profile of the woman. An amazing insight into the mind of Palin.

Once, while Sarah was preparing for a city-council meeting, she said, ‘I’m gonna put on one of my push-up bras so I can get what I want tonight.’ That’s how she rolls.”

Gmail is rolling out “Priority Inbox” a Facebook-like feature that predicts what emails are most important to you.

As messages come in, Gmail automatically flags some of them as important. Gmail uses a variety of signals to predict which messages are important, including the people you email most (if you email Bob a lot, a message from Bob is probably important) and which messages you open and reply to (these are likely more important than the ones you skip over).

I dont like Facebook telling me who my friends are, and Im not sure I like Gmail telling me what email is more important. I will just have to see how it works once I start seeing the Priority Inbox feature on my Gmail account.
